Michelle Cabassa began her career with First Federal Lakewood in 2002 as a teller and has held positions of increasing responsibility. Today, she serves as Regional Branch Manager for four branch offices—Brunswick, Strongsville, North Royalton and Olmsted Township. She is adept at educating customers on personal and business accounts and all the services associated with them, as well as home equity lines of credit. Michelle is a past recipient of First Federal Lakewood Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year awards, as well as the Essential Piece Award, Investment Services, which recognizes employees who gain the most referrals companywide. Michelle is a graduate of the First Federal Lakewood Retail Management Trainee Program and is a member/volunteer for the Brunswick Area Chamber of Commerce, Strongsville Area Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievement. She also serves on the American Red Cross blood drive committee.

Tom Helmick is the Branch Manager for the Olmsted Township branch. Tom specializes in building relationships with personal and small business clients, and has extensive experience with a variety of products, from checking, savings and money market products to CDs and IRAs. He also has extensive experience working with lending products, including auto and motorcycle loans, home equity loans and lines of credit, and personal lines of credit, as well as commercial loans and lines of credit. Tom has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Cleveland State University. He is a member of the Olmsted Falls City Schools Finance Committee. Prior to joining First Federal Lakewood, Tom was a Branch Manager with National City Bank and U.S. Bank, where he regularly received awards for being a top-producing manager.

Matt Kormos has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. He joined First Federal Lakewood in 2014, using his extensive experience with first-time home buyer, construction, FHA, and VA loans to help his customers navigate the loan process and choose the best product for their needs. He previously worked as a Mortgage Loan Originator for more than 10 years at Charter One/Citizens Bank. Matt has a bachelor’s degree in business/marketing from Cleveland State University.
